Community Services Community Services

NUST firmly believes in giving back to the society. It is our duty to serve our communities by being productive and responsible citizens of the society. In pursuance of this goal and to make students responsible and compassionate individuals, NUST has made a 2 credit-hour Community Service-Learning course mandatory for all undergraduate students. The course aims to engrain in students the significance of community service in the society. This is achieved through engaging students in practical and impactful community service activities and projects. In addition to that, there is a fully operational student-led NUST Community Services Club (NCSC), which engages its members and other volunteers from NUST in various community service initiatives. Some of the focus areas of NCSC include disaster response & preparedness, education for empowerment, health & hygiene and Social & Leadership skills. The altruistic contributions of NCSC to the service of the needy and the downtrodden have also earned international recognition. In 2015, NCSC’s “Education for Empowerment” programme was awarded the prestigious MacJannet Monitory Prize for Global Citizenship 2015. More recently, NCSC’s “Al-Qalam Programme” has acquired third place for the MacJannet Prize for Global Citizenship 2020.
